Second annual Earth Day Festival brings students together for an eco-friendly celebration

On Apr. 22, the Council of Green Affairs (CGA) hosted the second annual Earth Day festival at the Caples waterfront. The event was organized by a number of students, including New College Student Alliance (NCSA) Chair of Green Affairs and third-year Meilah Wimbush, Co-Chair and second-year Noah Tyler and CGA Zero Waste Coordinator and thesis student Nicole Silvera.

It was a bright, sunny day that allowed students the opportunity to participate in watersports like paddleboarding and kayaking, eat tasty Turkish food and listen to a green-themed set by student band Sungrazer. The event came as a much-needed moment of student engagement and relaxation in a semester that has been so tumultuous due to recent political developments.
