A snapshot of Florida’s annual Strawberry Festival
It’s that wonderful time of year again: spring is back, red tide is suffocating the west coast of Florida and the Florida Strawberry Festival is in town. Located in Plant City, this festival is conducted to showcase agriculture, commerce, livestock, horticulture and other creative crafts whilst also shining the spotlight on strawberries. This year was Florida’s 49th year of conducting this festival and it was held from Mar. 2 to 12.
The photos listed below reveal the wonderful and exciting events this festival has to offer. All photos courtesy of Aria Lockman.
One of the many Ferris wheels located within the festival. This specific ride was by far the largest at the event.
One cannot simply attend the iconic Strawberry Festival without standing in line to make their own strawberry shortcake. The line was long, wrapping around the building as festival attendees eagerly awaited their turn.
This is the result of waiting in the 30 minute line in order to make strawberry shortcake.
Live entertainment is offered during the festival. Some events, such as this one, come with the purchase of Strawberry Festival tickets. There are other options for live entertainment however these tickets must be purchased separately. These options include Willie Nelson, Chris Young, Tanya Tucker and other notable entertainers.
This photo spot was put together by Two Blondes Boutique, a local woman-owned business located in Plant City. Tonya Brock, the owner of Two Blondes Boutique, is native to Plant City and was one of the many vendors located in the festival. This spot was perfect for Instagram-worthy pictures to add a chic and vibey addition to anyone’s feed.
