Fri, Mar 3 Wall of Love: Trans Is Beautiful @ 9 p.m. – 1 a.m.

Activists will surround themselves with flags and signs on the sidewalk across the street from 7-11 for a memorial reading in honor of the six trans women murdered in the US so far this year. Organizers are looking for as many trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming people and drag entertainers to stand together in a human wall in solidarity and protest. Bring rainbow and trans flags and signs supporting the trans community. Organizers also need cisgender people (especially cisgender women) who agree to accompany trans folks to safe bathrooms nearby. Sun, Mar 5 EveryBODY: Walk for Eating Disorder Awareness @ 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Join The Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness to help raise awareness and promote education about eating disorders and early intervention. 100% of the proceeds raised at the walk will pay for printing, production and shipping of the Florida Eating Disorders Referral Guide and to start clinician led support groups in the Tampa Bay community. Join Guest Speaker McCall Dempsey as she shares her story of healing from a 15 year battle with an eating disorder. There will be live performances and a cathartic scale-smashing after the walk. Registration begins at 9, with student tickets at $15 and $5 for pets. The walk is a distance of one mile. The first 300 participants registered will receive event t-shirt and gift bag! After rallying support on Sun, Mar. 5, the Nate’s List campaign will host a speak out during the Sarasota County School Board Meeting. Nate’s List demands inclusive bathroom and locker room policies, adding gender identity and expression to anti-harassment policies, and training staff and faculty on inclusion of trans identities. Please prepare 3 minute speeches and sign up to speak when you arrive. (Don’t worry if you definitely do not want to speak. Simply showing up for the cause is helpful.)
