Student Constitution revision plan approved at Towne Meeting

At the Towne Meeting Feb. 9, students voted to begin the process of thoroughly restructuring the New College student government’s constitution. While a small amount of debate and discussion surrounded the vote, including the passage of an amendment specifying the facilitation of a design charrette to get input on how to best revamp the constitution, the resolution passed by a wide margin. The motion for a Constitutional Convention was presented by 1st year Gary Baker.

Also announced was the officially selected graduation speaker, Helen Fagin, “a prominent Holocaust educator and survivor,” as noted by the New College website. Following this announcement, pizza from Hungry Howie’s was made available tot he public.
