Established in 2007, the Ringling Art Library offers both students and the Sarasota public resources dealing with art history. With its vast collection of “more than 85,000 volumes, exhibition and sale catalogs, and more than 100 current periodical titles.” Though patrons cannot check out anything from the library, it provides an off-campus place for students to conduct their research using materials from John Ringling’s personal library, as well as extensive files on the artists shown in the collection, the art within the museum itself and museum files from around the world.

Throughout the year, the library also hosts events that are free to the public to promote not only its resources but also to educate people about art history. The library is located in the Ringling Education Center on the south side of the estate off Bay Shore Road, and students can access the library through signing in at the front desk. It is open Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to students and the general public.
